August 30, 2025
Breakfast/Brunch 10:00 am – Division Street Diner, 1800 W. Division St., Arlington, Texas 76012
While the Perez were off to Ireland/Northern Ireland to attend a family wedding, the LSR “regulars” met for Breakfast/Brunch. It was reported the morning was rainy but that had no impact on a great meal. As always, great to gather and enjoy each other’s company.
August 16, 2025 – Visit the DFW Car & Toy Museum
This is the Club’s second visit to this museum. And WOW! This is a new location for the museum and what an impressive improvement. As it was, the former location was amazing and who would have thought it could be improved? Well it certainly is an improvement.
The museum has an incredible toy collection consisting of items in every conceivable category. And needless to say, some items bring back some childhood memories. Of course there are also “big toys.” That is, an incredible car collection of fairly rare cars. Only a couple of Chevrolets but all cars were impressive and entertaining. And the best part, there is no charge.
As a bonus, during our visit the museum was hosting a car show which was open to all with no entry fees. It was great because our Club members who drove their classic cars were able to display their cars while we toured the museum.
Following the museum tour we headed to the Cracker Barrel for a meal and some great catching up.
July 26th, 2025 Breakfast/Brunch
Our monthly Breakfast/Brunch took place at th Theos Diner. Wonderful place to dine in Grand Prairie. As always it’s great to gather, enjoy a great meal, and catch up with what is going on in our lives.
This place has a very long history in Grand Prairie. While in the U. S. Marine Corps my last duty station was at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Dallas which sat on the border of Grand Prairie and Dallas. A couple of blocks away from the NAS was Theos Drive-In. Many cheeseburgers and fries were enjoyed by me at this fantastic place. As a matter of fact the Drive-In is still there. The Theos brand has never let me down.
July 13, 2025 Quarterly Meeting
We had a very productive meeting which included a briefing by Eddie Sewell about the upcoming 2025 Southern Tour/Region VI Joint Tour. The event will take place in the West/Waco, Texas area beginning on October 20 thru the 24th.
Director Barry Simpson highlighted the many activities the Lone Star Region has been involved in during 2025. He also spent time with members planning activities for the remainder of 2025.
The meeting was topped off with a Jerry Gray 90th Birthday Celebration which included Cake, ice cream, fruit, nuts, and lots of laughter. It was a special celebration with Jerry’s family in attendance. Happy 90th Jerry.
After the meeting we walked outside and were surprised by George Lozano as he shared his 1940 Master. What a beautiful car; suicide doors and all.
July 4th, 2025: 4th of July Parade, Arlington
What a beautiful 4th of July weather we had this year; temperature at its hottest was only 84 degrees. Perfect for a parade. Attendance was amazing this year. Many spectators along the parade supported us and cheered us on – the entire time admiring our beatiful classic cars. Afterwards, as has become tradition, we gathered at Spring Creek BBQ for a fantastic meal and fellowship.
